PART 1

The session will begin with an overview of common tank construction challenges, including corrosion, spalling, cracking, and leaking, as well as ongoing servicing and sealing requirements. Part 1 will conclude with a technical overview of Octaform stay-in-place PVC formwork and technical properties and construction process – form, protect, and seal in one step.

This system reduces project duration, cost, and complexity while improving service life, with reduced downtime and maintenance.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

  • An overview of common factors concrete tank performance and service life including corrosion, maintenance requirements, and compromised structural, liquid or gas retention.
  • Introduction to PVC stay-in-place formwork/liner system various considerations, product attributes and benefits for project longevity and cost reduction.
  • Several project examples from over 260 proven projects across Europe, Canada, and the United States

Open Q&A session.

Part 2

In the second part of the session, Dr. Mehdi Bagheri, P.hd. will introduce an overview of research in PVC formwork’s improved resistance to compressive, flexural and seismic loading several case studies from projects worldwide as well as

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

  • An introduction to studies on improved resilience of critical containment infrastructure from seismic loading.
  • An introduction to studies on improved resilience of critical containment infrastructure from seismic loading.
  • An overview of Octaform’s WallArmor system for tank rehabilitation and best practices for application.

A case study: tank rehabilitation. A detailed review of a tank rehabilitation project from Ontario, Canada.
